Walruses

The walrus was our last Arctic Animal that we studied.

Acting out our Walrus song!

We compared a walrus to a polar bear using a venn diagram.

We finished our last page in our Arctic Book.

We compared two stories.  The Three Snow Bears to Goldilocks and the Three Bears.

Even Steven and Odd Todd

While learning about numbers we enjoyed learning about which numbers are even and which numbers are odd!

We read Even Steven and Odd Todd.

Here's our version of Even Steven and Odd Todd.

Happy Valentine's Day!

I am so sorry that I haven't blogged in such a long time.  We are so busy in the classroom and sometimes I forget to take pictures!!  After all, that's not so bad.  Here is a video of how we celebrated Valentine's Day.

Polar Pals

We are learning about animals who live in cold climates.
We know many interesting facts about penguins and polar bears.

What other animals can be black and white?

How do penguins and polar bears stay warm?

We drew life size penguins.  We measured and compared their heights.

Solids and Liquids

We are learning about solids, liquids and gases. We turned an ice cube (solid) into liquid, then a gas and back to a liquid again.

We had fun seeing who could melt an ice cube faster.

We explored different solids and described their properties.

We also explored which solids could sink or float.

Which object is magnetic?
