Habitat is Where It's At!

This week we started our unit of study on Habitats.  We learned what a habitat is and made our own houses out of boxes.

We started learning about different habitats around the world.  We learned about the ocean and found out that the salt in the ocean keeps it from freezing.

The fresh water is frozen solid.  The salt water is slushly.

We sorted animals by their coverings.

We sorted animals in the Rainforest.

Winter

This week we welcomed our new season Winter.  We wrote our New Year's Resolutions.

After reading the story A Snowy Day, we wrote about what we like to do in the snow.

We made snowflakes and wrote about what we would do if we were snowflakes.
Happy Birthday Conner!

We went on a shape hunt.

We made snowmen out of octagons and decorated them with other shapes.  We compared our snowmen with others and discussed how they were alike and different.
