Worms

Do you like worms?  Chickens eat worms.  Worms are good for our Earth.

We read The Diary of a Worm.

After learning about worms, we wrote a Cinquain poem and had some little friends visit to help us write our poem.

What does it look like?

What is your worm doing?

 What does it feel like?

Look!  If I eat the tail, it will grow back!

Hens and Chickens

While learning about the farm, we also learned about hens and chickens.  We read Hens and Chickens by Gail Gibbons.

After taking notes about chickens and hens we just had to make these cute little hens.

Daniel raises hens at home.  He brought in twelve eggs from his hens Goldie, Floppsy, Moppsy, and Henny Penny.  Thanks for the eggs Daniel!

We read Hattie and the Fox.  We extended the story by making a farm scene and predicted what the
animals might of said after the cow saved the farm animals.  Don't forget to use those quotation marks!

Have you heard our new song?  The Hokey Cokey?  Here' a peek...

Happy Birthday Delaney!

We read The Little Red Hen and compared it to Burro's Tortillas

What was the author trying to teach us?

We read the story Bread Around the World and ate a little bit of bread.

Earth Day

Earth Day is celebrated each year on April 22nd.  If you ask one of our kinders, they would say that Earth Day is EVERDAY!

To show our Earth Day spirit, we picked up trash around our school grounds with our 3rd grade buddies.

We sorted things that were good for the earth and not good for the earth.

We read, Be a Friend to Trees and learned about how trees are so important to
people and animals.

We visited our class tree and observed the new buds.
