Just a peek...

Here are a few shots of the week.

Leaves

Last week with our chums, we went on a leaf hunt.

We will make a venn diagram comparing our leaves...next time we meet.

We made our own venn diagrams, comparing our names.

Scarecrows

We read the story...

Sequenced the story...

Sequenced it on the smart board...

Made a scarcrow...

and labeled the items.

We voted with tally marks what his name should be and the winner is...

"Howdy" Howdy!

We also read the story, The Shy Scarecrow, and completed a behavior over time graph.

Germs

We now know how important it is to wash our hands.  We read the story Germs make me sick and decided to use an apple to show the importance of handwashing.

We cut the apple in two slices.  One slice went right into the jar untouched.  The other apple slice went around the circle with each child touching the apple slice.

After a week, this is what the slices looked like.  Even though both apple slices turned brown, we noticed that the touched apple slice was browner and had mold growing on it.  YUCK!

Living and Nonliving

This past week we explored the different ways living and nonliving things were alike and different.

Raccoons and Ripe Corn

This is a great Fall book.  We read the story and sequenced the story.  We enjoyed shucking corn and eating it for snack!

How many crows did you find in the corn?
