Math Centers and More...

What grows in your garden?

Does your family plant a garden?

We read The Carrot Seed and learned about the main idea of a story.  We cut pictures out of a magazine and shared the main idea.

We read Up, Down and Around and learned what kind of things grow above or below the ground.

We enjoyed reading Tops and Bottoms.

Here's a few of our farm and plant centers.

Making flowers with pattern blocks.

We are publishing a book!

We read The Enormous Watermelon and used our problem solving skills to figure out how many hands
it took to pull the watermelon up.

Mother's Day is coming up soon!

Teacher Appreciation Week!

Thank you, Thank you, Thank you,!

During the Teacher Appreciation Luncheon, the kindergarten classes sang this song.

Seeds

What's in our mystery box?

Seeds!

We observed and sorted our seeds.  We tried to guess what might grow from our seeds.

Seeds come in many different sizes, shapes and colors.

We worked togehter and made seed pictures.

We read The Tiny Seed.  We learned what a seed needs in order to grow.

We soaked seeds over night to see what would happen.

We disected a seed and labeled each part.

I found the baby plant!

We read The Garden starring Frog and Toad.

Parts of a plant craft.

Parts of a plant snack.  Carrots (root), lettuce (leaves), celery (stem), sunflower seeds (seeds).

We acted out parts of a plant.

We read Jack and the Beanstalk and planted a lima bean in our own greenhouses.
