Weather

We started out our weather unit predicting whether or not March will be a lamb month or a lion month.  Of course we had to compare a lion to a lamb.  Most of us thought that March will be a lamb month.

We learned about all the tools a meteorologists uses and we used our senses to record the weather.

We learned about the three major types of clouds (cirrus, cumulus, and stratus).

We read Little Cloud by Eric Carle, and used the end of a paintbrush to etch details in our images.

And we learned that wind is moving air.

We had fun huffing and puffing to see which objects took the most puffs across the finish line.

Shamrock Crayon Sale

We made $111. 46 at our Shamrock Crayon Sale! Monies will be donated to the Humane Society of Winston-Salem. The children brought in Crayola Crayons, peeled them and then we melted them into shamrock shapes.

We hung up posters advertising our sale and also made a commercial.
