"You Can't Catch Me!"

We practiced how to read maps.  We read a map of our school and found a surprise.

Here are some of our Gingerbread Centers.

We made our own Gingerbread Man and wrote about him.

We found out why the Gingerbread Man did not cross the river by himself.

How many gingerbread cookies are in the jar?

Which part of the cookie did you bite first?

"Dough"

What can you make from flour?

We had a great time reading different versions of the Gingerbread Man.

 We made our own playdough!

Countdown to Christmas!

We made a Countdown Bell to count the days until Christmas.  The children had fun counting and making patterns.

Turkey Time!

Families disguised Tom the Turkey so he wouldn't be eaten on Thanksgiving Day!

Pilgrims and Native Americans

This week we read many stories about the Pilgrims and Native Americans and how they celebrated Thanksgiving.  We took a virtual field trip to Plymouth.  Check it out:  http://www.scholastic.com/scholastic_thanksgiving/feast/webquest.htm

We ate a "Mayflower meal."  (cheese, unsalted crackers, and beef jerky)

We made retell bracelets of the First Thanksgiving.

We had fun making our Native American outfits.

We made Native American and Pilgrim toys.  (ring on a stick)

We sorted pictures.  Past or Present?

Our Class Tree

We have adopted a tree.  We will observe our tree throughout the year to see its changes.
