Our parent reader for the week.

Map making with Little Red Riding Hood

We read a version of Little Red Riding Hood, and made a map of her walk through the woods to Grandma's house.

The children had to break up into groups of 3 and make their own map of Little Red Riding Hood.

Maps and Globes with Toot and Puddle

We are learning about maps and globes.  By reading a map of our classroom, the children had to find the
hidden bookbag.  Inside the bookbag, they found the story of Toot and Puddle.  They enjoyed the story about a pig (Toot) who travels around the world and leaves his friend (Puddle)behind, but not forgotten.  Puddle receives postcards all over the world from Toot.  The children enjoyed marking Toot's travels on a world map and looking at all the places Toot visited thanks to Google Earth.

Mail!

Along with learning about maps and globes, we are learning about mail and how it travels.  We read The Letter and wrote a friendly letter to our moms and dads.  Don't forget to check your mail next week!

We made Valentine Mail Trucks.

J is for...

We were talking about the letter J this past week.  We made J's out of jumpropes and had fun jumping rope.

Snowman Parade

We watched the first grade Snowman Parade.  What solid shapes do you see?  What month is their snowman decorated in?
